SUMMARY:ITFA seminar on eID for trade finance
DESCRIPTION:Afore Consulting is proud to partner with the International Trade and Forfaiting Association (ITFA) in a discussion on the evolution of financing and shipping of cargo globally, as well as the growing importance of introducing digital documentation into these global transactions. \nThe digital recognition and authentication of trade-related documents such as Bills of Lading are common place in Asia, the UK and other parts of the world but this is not the case in the EU. EU legislation already provides for legal documents signed electronically to have equal legal status as paper documentation but in practise this is not so in the Member States. \nIf there was a greater use and acceptance of digital documentation in the EU, the process of  importing  and exporting goods would be smoother and would open a wider range of financing options for international trade.\nThis invitation-only event brings together a select group of trade experts. The discussion will focus on the technological developments in the market and how the rest of the world is evolving, and will suggest how small changes to the eIDAS Regulation covering e-signatures and electronic identification can unlock Europe’s potential as an exporting region, as well developing international standards on the digital recognition of trade-related documents.\nTo register or for any other information, please contact constantine.arvanitis@aforeconsulting.eu\n
